AAhhh the sniffer made it back alive...from NC...no sinkholes but a sweet honey hole of a fishin spot
Got a laugh when I saw y'alls Bon Temps ref, and all this old geologist can say is beware Vamps and other supes, you are smack dab in the middle of the Northern Louisiana salt basin
...in all seriousness though the current hole is in the Gulf Coast salt basin...way less stable, think water + salt...if you are interested here's a map showing why sinkholes from old salt mines plague the sniffer's old stompin grounds
